This policy explains what personal data Cross Software ("Cross") collects, why Cross collects it, and how Cross protects it. Cross follows the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
01 What data Cross collects
- Account data: your email address, and your name if you give it.
- Billing data: our payment processor collects your card details and billing address. Cross never stores your card number. Cross receives from the payment processor the last four digits of your card, the card brand, and the billing address.
- Usage data: the pages you open, the features you use, your IP address, and your browser type. Cross uses this data to run and improve the product.
- Support data: the content of the emails you send to Cross.
02 Why Cross collects it
- To create and manage your account.
- To process your payment and send you receipts.
- To give you support.
- To keep the product secure and to detect fraud.
- To meet legal and tax obligations.
Cross does not sell your personal data. Cross does not use your data for advertising.
03 Who Cross shares it with
- Our payment processor, which receives your billing details to process payments.
- The hosting provider that runs the website and products of Cross.
- The email provider that handles support messages.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
Cross does not sell your data.
04 Retention
Cross keeps your account data for as long as your account is active. After you delete your account, Cross deletes your account data within 30 days. Cross keeps billing records for as long as Canadian tax law requires.
05 Your rights
You can ask Cross to show you the personal data Cross holds about you. You can ask Cross to correct it. You can ask Cross to delete it, unless the law requires Cross to keep it. Send the request to the email address in section 7. Cross answers within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
06 Security
Cross serves its website and products over HTTPS. Our payment processor stores your card details. Cross never sees or stores your full card number. Cross limits access to account data to the people who need it to run the service.
